15 Months and Growing!

Welcome back! We took a summer break from blogging. Between swimming at the city pool, train rides at the park, playing outside, going on walks, traveling to see friends and family and Kstate football games, the Rowe family has had a busy schedule the last couple of months. Life is definitely on a faster pace when you have a one year old. Landon just had his check up this week. Here are his stats: Weight: 20lbs, 11oz. Height: 30 inches. He is in the 5th percentile for weight and seventeenth percentile for height. He eats pretty much everything. He loves bananas, cheerios and spaghetti noodles. He has been drinking whole milk since a week before his birthday. We haven't used a bottle since 2 weeks before his birthday. He loves his Kstate sippy cup. Landon is a consant chatter box. Wonder where he gets that from? haha He has about 6 words right now besides mama and dada. He tries to say his own name, so cute. He tries to put his own shoes on and helps me take his clothes off and put them on. Landon spends all day on our porch playing with his sand and water tables. What messy play, but so much fun. Landon and our dog buster are best friends. They are always together and Landon gives him lots of hugs. He loves trying to pull on that tail. I am getting a licensed day care in our home. That way i can permanently stay home with Landon. Very exciting. I couldn't imagine not being with him all day. He is my world. Last night we visited baby Brynnlee.

12 Months & Growing!

                                                           Happy First Birthday Landon!

On June 23rd we celebrated Landon's First Birthday by having a party at the Train Depot in the Wamego City Park. There were train rides, Strawberry Cake and Ice Cream. Landon ate his own strawberry shortcake for his birthday. We had so much fun with all of our friends and family that were able to come.

Here is an update on Landon:
As of Wednesday, June 27th Landon is 28 inches long and weighs 18 lbs, 12 oz. He is in the 3 to 4 percentile. But, he is very healthy and he eats all the time.
He started taking steps at 10 1/2 months old. And 3 weeks ago he started walking everywhere. He is saying mama, dada, roar, uh-oh (he says that all the time right now, thanks to daddy) and he likes to bark. :) He plays patty cake all the time. We are working on getting him to stick his index finger out to tell people how old he is. Probably going to take a while on that though.
He had his one year screening with the Parents as Teachers Coordinator 2 weeks ago. He is doing excellent. He can turn pages in a book, he can give hugs, share toys and he likes to mimic people.
Landon has 5 front teeth so far. The teething process has not been so easy on Landon.
Landon is been officially off of the bottle for 2 weeks now. He switched to whole milk 5 days before his actual birthday. He is doing very good on it. Next thing will be the pacifier. But, the paci is our best friend right now, it's the only thing that gets him to sleep and helps keep him sleeping through the night.
We had to lower his crib about a month ago because he kept crawling out of it when we wouldn't come get him when he woke up in the night. What a bugger. He gets so mad at us that he decides to crawl out of the crib... It almost gave me a heart attack. Finding him on top of the hamper because he landed on it when he crawled out of the crib.
He is currently in a hitting stage. He has to smack everyone and everything. And he likes to roll around when he is getting his diaper changed. That is not fun, especially when it is a poopy diaper. Oh the joys of parent hood. :)

I don't know if you can tell by the pictures, but Landon has gotten very tan this summer. We spend as much time as we can out side in the pool, playing in the sand table, swinging, going on walks to the park, etc. He is definitely going to be using the swing he got for his birthday all the time.

Coming up is the 4th of July. This will be Landon's 2nd time celebrating the 4th of July. At least now he is older and it won't be so hard on him to be out in the heat, like last year as a newborn. We can't wait to celebrate with him and to take him to the Firework Show.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!

11 Months & Growing!

Landon has reached the 11 month mark! We are on the go constantly. Landon sure keeps us busy with taking steps and talking and climbing onto everything. We have been keeping Landon outside as much as we can. He has a baby pool that he loves to play in and a sand table. He is constantly dumping the sand out on the ground. We set up an octopus sprinkler last week, and he kept crawling right by the water and sitting directly in front of it, so he would get soaked. It is so adorable to watch. We use the Johnny jumper as a swing outside attached to the play set. He loves to swing. Really, he loves to do anything outside. Shaun and I took Landon to the park for a picnic and went for a ride on the train. It is so nice to live within walking distance from the park. We go on daily walks. Landon has 4 teeth now, his top and bottom front teeth. He enjoys using them to chew on ritz crackers. He has been on a hotdog kick. Such a great eater, but so messy. I keep busy with cooking, vacuuming and keeping cords out of Landon's mouth. He has ruined several phone cords with his slobber. It's hard to get mad at him though, with his adorable smile. We had a wonderful Memorial weekend in Newton. We took Landon to see his great grandparents. Also, we took him to the Sedgwick County Zoo. My father put him in the sand next to a goat and he kept trying to kick it. Cute, but not nice.

Big Boy Accomplishments!

I don't want to wait until Landon is 11 months to post some great news!
Sunday, April 29th was a BIG day for Landon. He said mama and dada. He said dada ONCE a few months ago, but now he can actually say it. He has been saying mama all week. Also, Landon took his very first STEPS. He walked from the couch to Shaun, vice versa and he can walk from Shaun to Me. What a very big boy we have! We are so very proud of Landon. Just thought you all would enjoy the news! :)

Today is Landon's Great Grandfather's Birthday!

                                                                       Happy Birthday!

10 Months & Growing!

Landon has hit the 10 month mark. Sadly i can't say he is walking yet. Very close to taking his first step the other day though. Now he can balance his weight and stay standing with out holding onto something for at least a good 30 seconds. He is our little talker.. Always babbling on. Bababa is all he is saying so far.
I enrolled Landon & I in therapeutic swimming lessons. It's mostly about bonding in the water with your child. This is a 3 week session. He did very very well. He let me blow bubbles in his face, he laid on his tummy while holding onto my hands, he even relaxed enough to lay on his back and put his head on my shoulder. Wouldn't kick his feet, but i showed him how to. We even went under the water. He is definitely a water baby. Didn't even shed a tear the whole time we were in the pool.

Landon attended his very first Royals Baseball game this last weekend. He loved looking around at all the people and noises. Now that Landon is eating table food, he gets to eat off of our plates when we go out to dinner. That is definitely an experience. He pretty much likes anything you give him. Not a picky eater yet.

Not too much else going on this month. Landon will be busy almost every weekend in May, but that is how it is this time of the year.We get into everything now and want everything in our mouth. He loves to come into the kitchen while i am cooking and take out containers and play with them. He also really really likes to eat Buster's dog food. YUCK! We definitely have some juicy stories about Landon. I will have to write them down and tell them to his girlfriends when he is older.

We hope everyone has a great month of May!

9 Months & Growing

Landon is 9 months old! He had his doctors appointment today and here are his stats: Height- 27 inches = 10%. Weight- 17 lbs and 14oz + 9%. Head Circumference- 45.5cm + 50%. Doctor Duff says that Landon is doing great and doing things that 11 month old's should be doing :) Doctor's orders that he starts on table foods and to skip the 3rd stage baby food. He can eat what we eat. This will be interesting to see what he likes and does not like. Hope he does not become a picky eater.
My baby is not going to be a baby much longer. As of last week, Landon uses his walker and walks all over the house with it. Also, we had our first experience with Landon having a high fever and throwing up 2 weeks ago. Not fun! And i got it at the same time. I don't think Shaun knew what he got his self into when he had to take care of a baby and wife sick with the flu. Definitely an experience.
My mom came up for a couple of days during her spring break and spent time with us. Landon sure loves his Grandma. We went to Newton last weekend to see Landon's Great Grandparents. They can't get enough of him.
Easter is coming up. I can't wait to spoil him with a Easter basket full of goodies. He may not be able to eat candy yet, but mommy and daddy can always eat it for him :) Before we know it, it will be Landon's First birthday. We have already started planning for it. Time really flies by.

Landon went shopping with my mom and I in Topeka. He was such a trooper!
                                                             Landon with Grandma Rowe

Eating breakfast! We love our banana puffs!
Playing with daddy in the Hallway

Happy Easter from the Rowe's!

8 Months & Growing!

Landon is officially 8 months old today! I can not believe it! He is getting so big and pretty soon he will no longer be a baby. But, he will always be MY baby. Landon is crawling everywhere. Anything that he can grab onto and use to pull himself up onto his feet, he loves. We started giving him baby puff snacks a couple weeks and he does really good with them. He is eating 3 meals a day plus his bottles. Oatmeal, a veggie and a fruit. The spill proof sippy cups are the way to go. Landon loves to turn his sippy cup over and try to make a mess. When ever he sees me drinking out of a cup, he makes me share my water with him. Sharing germs as always :)
He is absolutely in love with cords right now! The PS3 cord, computer cord, vacuum cord, etc. As soon as we get the vacuum out, he can't stop watching until we are done, i guess its better to have a child that is infatuated with the vacuum, rather than terrified, i definitely need to be able to vacuum whenever i can.

Valentines was so much fun with Landon this year. I LOVE Valentines day, always have and always will. Shaun HATES it, but he was such a good sport with it this year. We bought Landon a stuffed puppy dog that was as big as he is and a Balloon. He LOVES the balloon. He could sit on the floor and yank on it for hours, just laughing and staring at the balloon. One of the cutest things ever.

This past weekend we were very busy. Went to Baldwin for my cousin's birthday party. Had a baby shower on Sunday to attend and then went and visited Landon's Great Grandma & Great Grandpa Winter.

                                                         Showing off daddy's K-State hat
                                                                           They are my World

Great Grandma & Grandpa Winter, enjoying their time with Landon
We do a lot of sensory play at our house. Landon really enjoys playing with shaving cream and finger paints.

This past month has been super busy. On to the next month. Hope everyone has a great month of March! We are ready to celebrate St. Patty's day! :)
